Very refreshing take on something that simply isn't going to change.

While I agree with many of her sentiments about the state of public education, the second part of her speech shows exactly how privileged she is. Her perspective is coming from someone who has likely had the lifelong luxury of putting wants before basic needs, idealism before pragmatism/realism.

Her dream world is the world of Star Trek where seemingly everyone achieves a productive life based strictly on their merits, to which I answer "Of course that sounds great... but who ends up serving the drinks in Ten Forward?"
