theres a meteor shower tonight

the perseid meteor shower peaks tonight around midnight to 3am for north america.

It's a gorgeous night in the Chicago-land area. Even in my light polluted suburb, I was still able to see 2 or 3 shooting stars in my backyard. I was looking pretty much directly up, oriented North-Northeast. I set my chair in my lawn so the house obstructed the moon, which was REALLY bright.

I wish I was in the country for this one though. It is a gorgeous night. I haven't sat out and looked at the stars in a while. Kind of puts you in your place when you do...but at the same time you take in the beauty of it all and you really appreciate everything.

It's also peaking in Europe this night, so I'll be up to catch me some stars.
