Madden 2003 Online!!!!!!!

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/359/359563p1.html
May 15, 2002 - Madden NFL 2003 will "take full advantage of the PlayStation 2 console's online capabilities" when it launches in August, and other Electronic Arts titles will follow suit later this year, the publisher announced in a press release today. At the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo, EA Sports will demonstrate the online communication and gameplay elements of the latest installment in its popular football franchise.
"Full advantage," in this case, translates to online multiplayer games, in-game chat features, and downloadable upgrades to keep player statistics, injury status, and other team roster information up to date. The PlayStation 2 version of Madden NFL 2003 will be the only version of the game on the market with these features -- EA confirmed that the Xbox version will not support online features this year.
"We are very excited to be partnering with Sony Computer Entertainment of America to bring Madden NFL Football and other popular EA franchises online through the PlayStation 2," said EA Chairman and CEO Larry Probst. "We believe that console-based online play is in its infancy but will grow in the next several years. Early applications on the PlayStation 2 offer a great experience for consumers and a chance for developers to find out what gamers like about online play. We feel confident about the business model presented by SCEA and their choice of an open technology infrastructure for providers and consumers."
IGN will be in attendance to deliver a first-hand report on all aspects of Madden 2003 at E3 later this month. Stay tuned.

I hope that it has more online features than the crappy online NFL 2k2...
I mean like uploading created players, or updating rosters.

I hate Madden, but I might have to pick it up and see how PS2 does online. It supports broadband right?

I certainly hope it supports online. I assume it does, considering the network adapter for the PS2 is primarily broadband, and is considered more of a BBA than a modem.
And NFL2K3 is gonna be online too gekko, so why not just get that?
