That's quite common. It's actually Microsoft's responsibility to make hide certain gamertags when they play games. I have a couple buddies who are always playing games early, and you'll notice if Microsoft catches on suddenly they show no recent games played, yet have tons of gamerscore. They just hide the activity of the gamertag for a bit until the game is released.
