Wow, I've never been so pissed in my life (Star Wars)
Lucasarts will not be bringing The Force Unleashed to PC.
http://feeds.ign.com/~r/ignfeeds/pc/.../873303p1.html
What....the.....fuck?
If I didn't love Star Wars so much, I'd boycott them.
They cite the reason to be that PCs have such a varying amount of horsepower they can't bring the same experience to all levels. Are you kidding me? They are developing the game for PS3/360 (mid-high range computer) and the Wii (low range computer). They are saying that they can't somehow combine these into a single PC experience??
Even if they couldn't, just develop the game with a mid-high range computer in mind. Who the hell cares about low end computerists???? If they can't afford an upgrade to their PCs, they should move to console gaming. PC gaming is an expensive hobby, get over it Lucasarts! The whole reason I game mainly on PC is so that I can get better resolutions and better visuals. I'm willing to pay the extra money to get it.
So now my PC is going to not get a great game because some people still try to get by on bare minimum PCs. That is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard.
So now I have to choose between Wii and PS3. Tough decision. I'll be pondering for quite a while. Probably wait and see how the controls pan out for Wii.

That's a tough choice.
One of those games where the controls seem like it would help a lot, but also doesn't have the same physics engine.
On the other hand, Wii version also features an exclusive fighting mode which seems pretty cool as well.

PC gaming is alive and kicking. There is plenty of money to be made on PC.

Re: Wow, I've never been so pissed in my life
well son of a b****...you see, right now i would be really freaking pissed off if i didn't have a 360 coming within the next month or so...
i am currently building a new PC (Force Unleashed in mind) and that kind of really pisses me off that i won't be able to utilize it...oh well...i guess other games will just have to get my attention instead...and FU will have to wait till i'm done with them to move onto console gaming...

Can't be.
He had to have seen episode 1 and 2 at some point in his life.

Yeah, but not for the genre FU would be in. PC's bread and butter is RTS, MMO and Harcore RPG right now. Even FPS's are dominated by consoles in today's market. Now try making it for only high end PC's and you've eliminated 980% of you possible market. Crysis didn't fail because of piracy, it failed because no one could play the damn game.

By comparison, I've been a terribly angry person over the course of my life.
It makes me sad. Or angry...not sure which.

I agree 100% with you on Crysis. Crysis was so ridiculously high spec'ed that I didn't even want to buy it (plus they didn't optimize it very well which made it run less than stellar on good rigs). I'm not saying that FU should require that much horsepower, no game should. You can make a damn fine looking/performing game that requires half of Crysis' requirements.
And I believe that Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy did very well on PC which are very similar games. Granted they came out years ago...

And I have to say yes. I don't get upset very easily. Get dumped by GF, whatever. Get a D on an exam, eh... Star Wars abandoning PC, that crosses the line. :-P
