Default Gt All Star Gaming: Teuthida

Danny took the effort to frame his own interview so...

1) Tell us what your first experience with video games was.
It just so happens I was delivered upon a Ms Pacman video arcade cocktail table. I refuse to recognize
the female meat sack who I am forced to give evening foot rubs to as my mother. No! My mother is
cold, hard, and wood paneled.

2) Your first console and game?
My "mother" was severely against video games. (Out of jealousy no doubt.) But when my 8th birthday
arrived she agreed to allow me one...if I promised not to anthropomorphize it. At the time both the
Game Boy and the NES were $40. I choose to go with the Game Boy. "Mother" beat me. It was far
too small to cost the same. But on a cold day in November I unwrapped the ball of newspaper with my
bandaged hands to find a Game Boy. Oh the world was indeed just! Six months later I received my
first game for Jacob- I mean the Game Boy. It was Kirby's Dreamland, and I finally had a friend.

3) What were some of your favorite games growing up?
Kirby's Dreamland and Kirby's Pinball Land were my staples. I later split the cost of a Sega Genesis
with a collective of Argentinean pigeon breeders and was introduced to Sonic 2. I loved that lactose-intolerant speedy insectivore. How the mighty has fallen.

4)What consoles have you owned?
Atari 2600, Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS,
Vibratex Maverick, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and a GameCube.

5)Favorite game? Favorite console? Favorite franchise?
That's a toughie. I used to respond with Donkey Kong but after that night my cub scout leader took us
to what he told us was an arcade- oh, never mind. Wouldn't interest you. I still have rather fond memories of Animal Crossing. Good times. I would have to pick Game Boy Pocket for my favorite console. Its sexiness cannot be beat. And for franchise...hmm. Kirby. There has yet to be a bad Kirby game. The pink puff ball has never let me down. Not like dad did.

6)Has your taste for gaming evolved over time?
Actually no. Not really. I still enjoy simpler 2D games over everything else. I do like how the portable systems are easier to see now though. I still blame Nintendo for my blindness and fetish for mustaches.

7) Graphics or gameplay?
Gameplay you impotent fool! Now where is my water? You said I would be allowed water after the interview. I am so very thirsty. Wait. Where are you going? Please don't leave me here. They bite me when you leave. Please...

Hahaha.

So if you have the funds, are you going to hop on to the Animal Crossing MMO?

Is there an Animal Crossing MMO planned? It's been a while since I read any gaming news. Found an article from Feb with Iwata shooting down the idea.

If one did come out I would be quite torn. Enjoyed the first game so much to the point of spending more hours on it than probably any other game I've ever played. I just could not get into the DS version however. Perhaps if I had the funds and learned to budget my time better. Working from home is tough with video games within reach.

I told my girlfriend I would only get a Wii once we moved in together and kept it under lock and key with her holding onto the key. ...I'd probably learn to pick locks though.

Hahah! Yeah, it was all but confirmed by Nintendo's official statement on its stance on pay-for-play online games. Hopefully it comes out soon. It seems they like to announce things last-minute nowadays.

Yeah I thought Nintendo's announcement of some games being pay for play and DLC was pretty much pointing in the direction of an MMO.
