Default Guitar Hero World Tour Wii

My brother just got this for his birthday(his birthday was on the release date, ironically) Anyways for the life of us we cannot figure out why, but we cant get our microphone to work. I plug it into the USB port on Wii, and it like it never detects it. It just wont let you select vocal as an option, its always grayed out. And when you try to select it it tells you to connect a microphone. We've tried everything and we are really at a loss...any ideas?

Maybe a sales representative will let you exchange it.

Have you got a controller connected? I learned that you needed a controller with Rock Band mic over a year ago. I wouldn't be surprised if GH is the same way now.

Yea, you do need a free wiimote to work the controls for the person using the mic. It still acts like it dosent detect it. Its very strange.

Also, this is getting WAY better reviews on Wii - I'm surprised! Is it worth picking up a second set of plastic instruments for the Wii version?

Well my brother got the entire band package, which includes drums, guitar, and microphone. And we had the guitar from GH3 which works with world tour of course. It is quite a lot of fun, havent really had the chance to play it much, but there is just a ton of content along with all the downloadable stuff and online play.

As for the microphone, my brothers friend brought over his rock band mic and plugged it in and it works fine, which tells me that I got a busted mic. Im looking into getting it replaced by activision.
