Default TV Pilots for 07/08

Well, TV season is usually pretty dry this time of year.

There are a few gems on but eh.

Anyhow, last year, I became aware of the TV pilot season in which episodes sent to networks and critics are sent out to get a feel for the show. Last year, I was able to discover Heroes this way so I turned my attention to the new shows this year as the summer months die down.

Anyhow the ones i have seen so far
Pushing Daises
Reaper
Chuck
Sarah Connor Chronicles

I think those are the only ones.
I think this would also be the order that I would put em. Though Reaper/Chuck are a lot closer. And Sarah Connor Chronicles is at the bottom but not because it is awful.

Pushing Daises is an awesome pilot and should make for a good show. The only problem is I fear it won't last an entire season because it just seems so quirky. I won't say what it is about but would advise everyone to check it out.

Reaper is another show that is pretty high quality. Before I go on would say that Reaper and Chuck are pretty similar shows.

-Both involve male cast leaders who have better normal lives, who have something occur to them on a birthday that makes em special.

-They both have an annoying side kick/best friend.

-A hot chick in their life who is kind of off limits.

-Some extraordinary task that neither is prepared for but both accept.

The main difference is that Reaper deals more with sci-fiction/fantasy while Chuck is kind of a gov't show.

Sarah Connor Chronicle is a good pilot, I would say. The problem is I have no idea they plan on maintaining it for an entire season or even multiple seasons.

Watched the pilot of Pushing Daisies this morning. Really good, but like penguin said, it's a bit odd.

I have a hard time wanting to invest in a new show since it's more likely than not to be cancelled. Networks these days won't even give a show a chance. If it's not a smash hit within the first couple of episodes then they pull the plug.

They wanted to cancel Conan because of how awful he was during his first year, but now he's extremely popular and is taking over the Tonight Show when Leno retires.
