Nix this order, and replace it with one that has a 512mb 1900xtx GPU

Well I actually changed the order to put in the 1900 xtx after doing some research. Its a better card are cheaper than the nVidia equivalent. I also decided to avoid going SLi or Crossfire as I read that single GPU configs actually run BETTER than multi-GPUs on the monitors I prefer to use (anything over 20in is just too much to see without having to constantly move your eyes). In order to get better performance from a multi-GPU you need a crazy high resolutiong and at least a 24in monitor (according to Tom's Harddrive)

Man, I've learned a LOT in the past few days...

Good call on the ATi card. They beat the **** out of NVidia's cards.

Err, nVidia was ahead for almost two whole generations of cards, particularly when SLI hit. nVidia chips still tend to squeeze more performance out of multiple cards.

I got an ATI this time around, but realistically they're not nearly as far ahead as some people seem to think they are. And quite frankly, Forceware > Catalyst.

FedEx tried to deliver my PC today, which is fast considering I just ordered it last Friday. I'm very happy with that. I just hope they completed all the necessary testing on the system before they sent it. The again this is the slow time for computer sales (between Back to School rush and the Holidays) so they might have had plenty of time.

I won't be able to collect the item until Friday because of work, but as soon as I boot that son of a bitch up I'll let you know how it runs.

As for Cyberpower, as of right now I'm very happy. That was crazy fast processing. So far the only gripe I have is that they don't update their Order Status webpage vey well. FedEx tried to deliver yesterday, but according the CP's site, they haven't started processing my order yet much less mailed it. I was cought completely off-guard. It was a nice suprise, but still a suprise none-the-less.

gfx cards go from generation to generation, seems like they alternate who has the top one each time now. IMO with nvidia having a slight edge at the moment.

overall i usually prefer nvidia cards though, because thier drivers are so much better, but i would go either way depending on price/power.

as happydude just said, ATI was bought by AMD, plus, currently intel has the top processors out right now.

for the next few months anyway...until AMDs quatro core is released... i don't know why or who would need so much power.
