Zelda: Tp Wii-sized
Apparently there will now be a greater difference between the Wii version and Cube version of Twilight Princess.
Zelda Wii will now feature Wii-mote sword fighting. A feature that was not included or intended to be included in the e3 version.
Also with the sword play in effect, shooting arrows will now be done with the B trigger instead of down on the directional pad.

Quote:
At E3, players used the B button to swing Link's sword, with Nintendo explaining at the time that players would likely get tired having to actually swing the controller. "Upon actually playing it, it's more interesting this way," said Miyamoto to Nintendo Dream about the new control scheme.
Going along with this change, Nintendo has made modifications to the game's bow and arrow controls. In the E3 version, players aimed with the Wiimote, then actually shot out arrows using the D-pad. With the B button now free, Nintendo has moved the action to the B button. Miyamoto felt that that shooting the arrow with the D-pad was too difficult, and the B button allows for quicker and easier shooting.

Re: Zelda: Tp Wii-sized
Nintendo is really selling the point I made years ago about TP being a kiss-off to the Gamecube. This has gimmick all over it. Because, if it really boils down to the swing of a wand vs the push of a button, this news is only going to OMG OMG appeal to nintendo fans.
Not that it isn't cool. If my brother picks up a Wii I'm sure I'll try it, otherwise if I get TP it'll be for Gamecube still. In a way I wish they'd release what is by now probably a mostly finished game...it's kind of cheating the hardcore gamecube fans.

I can see how you may view it as a gimmick. to be fair, we all know the game wasn't built on the ground up for the Wii. But it will be cool for a lot of other people to actually use a sword. Not just hardcore Nintendo fans.
As for the not releasing early for diehard Cube fans, well that part does suck but its business and they make the most money releasing same time. Or at least get to better position the Wii version.

amen to that. the arrow stuff looked like wayyyyy to much work at E3, like who the heck wants to go through that much work to shoot an arrow.

Re: Zelda: Tp Wii-sized
When I was at mall this weekend, I stopped at EB's and sure enough, I still have my $5 pre-order for the original Zelda TP ont he Gamecube from May of last year
Asked when they'd take them for the Wii version so that I can just transfer it over, they didn't know so...I let my $5 sit there and rot while waiting for EB's to take preorders for the Wii version
