Yamauchi was awesome, but he's willfully stepped down. That man had balls.

I haven't really heard Allard in that tone. Peter Moore, maybe, but the way he stood up to Dan Hsu in that interview a couple months ago was pretty commendable.

Kutaragi just doesn't make sense.

In a sense, he makes perfect sense.

If you view it as a toy, then yes, it's expensive. But thats like considering a laptop a toy, a 360 a toy, or a wii a toy.

If you view it as a DVD player, then yes, it is expensive. But if you view the 360 as a CD player, and the wii as a controller add-on, then they all seem expensive.

And in saying "And it is the only PlayStation 3" that's super cocky, but totally true. It has better specs than any of the systems. None of them can add up to it in that aspect. And graphics, and Frame rate are important. Because if they werent, we'd be playing our NES and Dreamcasts every day, as we do the systems we have now.

/pointless and overdrawn post with no real meaning.

Some people are going back to their Dreamcasts and NES's and not buying any new consoles, etc...now with gaming becoming so exorbitantly expensive. I've seen it first hand on another board I visit sometimes.

I don't see anything wrong with that at all. "And it is the only Playstation 3" doesn't even make sense. Of course it's the only one, no one else besides Sony is making the PS3. That's no where near as bad as Microsoft claiming last year that they would have "a billion" gamers on Xbox Live. That was so retarded that I can't believe anyone clapped.

seriously, what is so cocky about all of that? Kutaragi IS cocky, but I dont think it shows so much in this comment.

it's just a statement regarding how it's being marketed...it's not a toy you're gonna buy for little Johnny or when you see one at Toys'R'Us, it's an entertainment system, something that you save your money for (like a camcorder, nice digital camera, golf clubs etc.)

his 'its the only playstation 3' comment just means that it's really the only product that fits in those categories

Somebody still has to convince me that it's leaps beyond Xbox 360. They're both trying to do the same thing, only PS3 does it a little bit better.... or at least they say they will. =)

Trust me, nobody has to convince you of anything...you're completely justified in how you view each system as of now, and if you have no interest of buying a PS3 it means two things:

a) that's fine and dandy
b) Sony probably isnt trying to market towards you anyways

If you somehow ARE convinced...well that's just gravy for Sony
