College Acceptance
So, which colleges did Gametavern's Class of 2010 get into so far?
Me? Well, I just found out that I'll be going to UCLA
...this is one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced..
Quote:
Dear Allen:
Congratulations! It is our great pleasure to offer you admission to UCLA for the Fall Quarter 2006.
You were selected from the largest pool of university candidates in the nation—more than 47,000 applicants. Your academic achievements and personal talents are exceptional, and your intellect and imagination will thrive at UCLA. We want you to join us in the Class of 2010.
You have been admitted to the UCLA College of Letters and Science with Pre Political Science as your academic major. We invite you and your family to attend one of our College Welcome Days, where you will meet in small groups to learn about the College’s extraordinary academic opportunities and campus life at UCLA. Many of our most innovative programs are designed specifically for freshmen. To view more information and RSVP for a College Welcome Day and other special invitation-only events, please click on the “You’re Invited!” link on the left hand side of this page.
The New Bruins Web site provides access to your next step: your formal acceptance of our admission offer. It also includes information about important deadlines and your housing application. To complete your housing application and to access additional university services, use your UCLA student ID as shown above. Additionally, please review your Admission Contract to ensure that you will continue to meet the provisions of your offer of admission.
For now, enjoy this moment—it is the beginning of one of the most exciting and memorable chapters in your life. Of course, you're going to learn a lot about the world at UCLA. But more often than you might imagine, UCLA will be where the world learns about you.
Welcome to UCLA!
Sincerely,
Dr. Vu Thanh Tran
Director

Re: College Acceptance
Wow, UCLA is one the hardest schools to get accepted into. It's right up there with Berkeley in terms of nearly impossible. A very, very sincere and warm congratulations I bear to you. As soon as you get your academic e-mail address, you can join the wonderful world of Facebook and we can be Facebook friends.
My good friend goes to UCLA, maybe you'll be in the same housing region as him.

Re: College Acceptance
Yea congrats man. I never really experienced what it was like to get a true college acceptance letter, because I wanted to save money and started at a Junior College.

Congrats but do not listen to him. Facebook is evil. It will consume your soul. It's the half-cousin of myspace...of course if you already use myspace it's too late to save you anway. My account is currently deactivated there but when operational my main pic is me holding up a sign saying "F*ck Facebook."

Re: College Acceptance
I remember my rejection letter from MIT more than my acceptance letter to UT. But it all worked out.

Re: College Acceptance
I was 9 for 9 with the colleges I applied to...nothing crazy hard...didn't want to take the SAT II's required for those...nor waste the application fee...man, the application process brings back horrible memories. Ended up at the top State school in NY and then I throw it away transfering to an art school that refused to take most of my hard earned credits making it so I'll have to complete 5 years of college. Bah.
Sorry, um...congrats all once again.
