EGM's Top Ten Game Characters

Well as its on-going countdown to EGM 200th issue.. I think.. they have been doing top 10s every month for a while. This month its game characters...

I take issue with some of these choices but eh.

Most Embarassing Moment: Dressing up in drag in FFVII.

Pac-Man
Best Game: Pac-Man (Arcade)
Most Embarassing Moment: The Mario Party-esque Pac-Man Fever (PS2/GC).

Sonic the Hedgehog
Best Game: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis)
Most Embarassing Moment: The voice of Sonic in the cartoon series was done by none other than Jaleel White, who may know as the annoying Steve Urkel from the TV's Family Matters.

Samus Aran
Best Game: Super Metroid (SNES)
Most Embarassing Moment: Could it be the upcoming Metroid movie?

Solid Snake
Best Game: Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
Most Embarassing Moment: Solid Snake skateboarding his way around Big Shell in the PS2 version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.

Yeah Samus was actually one of the choices I had issues with and Pac-Man should of been much higher on the list.

10. Lara Croft <--- poster child for female video game advocation.

9. Pikachu

8. Master Chief <--- generic character with a generic personality.

7. Cloud Strife <--- overrated. Further lame factors include spiky blonde hair, dark clothing, and an oversized blade.

6. Pac-Man

5. Sonic

4. Samus <--- another feminist's poster child. Has not made a great enough impact to be on list.

3. Solid Snake <--- "the man who makes the impossible possible". Too contrived.

I prefer OOT to ALTTP, but SMB3 just might be better than SM64...close call there though.

I don't think Master Chief should have been on there, generic like GM said.

I agree with Solid Snake being on there, maybe not so high though.

And for up-and-comers I think Dante should be on there...but I am in love with him so that may make me biased.

oh hell yeah, Dante definitely should be on there, if only GTA had 1 main character, then that guy should be on there.
