The latest videogame movie... Silent Hill
http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/mod...&mode=&order=0
IGN posted it on March 27th and bluefire pointed it out last night tankei
I just sent the link to the place IGN got it from cuz... I closed the browser that had the IGN story about it and it basically said the same thing...
"As of today 03/26/02 we are in pre-production of the following film "Silent Hill" which has been placed ahead of our original project "The Essence" in terms of release date and importance from New Line Cinema. We at Dark Aura Entertainment couldnt be happier that we have been given the green llight to develop this project. We also believe that this will be a revolutionary film for two genres. The film based on video games and more importantly the modern horror film. We know what fans you all are of this game and we know it is crucial that we get it right and that is what we intend to do. We will update you shortly when our site is up and running . Thank you for your continued support and please submit any suggestions.
Thank you ,
Dark Aura Entertainment"
I hope it stays true to the game (err, either game... or if it's a whole new story set in Silent Hill, it better be LIKE the game... Meaning a lot of darkness, disturbing images, and NOT A BUNCH OF CRAZY ACTION like they made RE into) and everything goes nice and good... Cuz in the last videogame movie story thing (actually it might have just been an RE movie topic) I listed Silent Hill as one of the games I think could have the most potential as a movie if they did it right... and it could be a really good thing for the horror genre since it has been stinkin' lately... Who here has seen the preview for Jason X? "I AM SUPER JASON GRAAAR I WILL EATS J00!"
Anyways... I just figured I'd post it for anybody who cares

This one could be pretty good as long as they don't mess it up.
Let's keep our fingers crossed *crosses fingers*

I heard New Line Cinema picked up the rights to do a State of Emergency movie. Seems like that would be a tad violent, no?

I think that movie could turn out to kick ass if they could do it right. Yeah, it would be violent, but so what? Black Hawk Down was a violent movie...

I voted Silent what? Ha ha ha ha!
Cause you see, Deathshand really likes SH and even though I know what it is I'm pretending I don't to make him mad and I'll shut up now.

Videogame movies have pretty much all sucked so far, so I say we just give up on them and abandon all hope...
Infact, gamecube's lineup has been dissapointing so far, so I say we all just abandon all hope and sell our cubes, I bet you all agree on that idea don't you?
Seriously, how can anybody say "Yay " and stuff like that like "Jeez just stop making them already" when there's an option for "let's hope they get this one right"... And you guys say I'M pessimistic
I think a lot of the ones they've been announcing lately sound kinda stupid... Crazy Taxi, fo azample...
But this game had good atmosphere, I good (IMO) but kinda confusing plot... I don't see any way they can turn it into a crazy action movie like they did RE... Now if they can get the script right, give the movie the same "feel" as the game, get good character stuffs (if they don't actually base it on one of the games)... etc etc...
Basically, this one has more of a chance of being good than most of the upcoming, and some of the past movies... RE coulda been good and FF coulda been good (and IMO, it was "OK")... but they made it reeeaaally different from the game and they both had pretty bad scripts and blah blah I'll shut up now...

Uhh... Uhh....
I'm not saying they should give up, I said they should stop spewing out crappy Video game movies...
I mean, if you are gonna make a movie, make it at least decent.
