You can say that, but emulation is one of the biggest pulls for a modded Xbox right now. And classic game collections are selling like crazy.

I get what you're saying. But it's nice to be able to sit down comfortably on the TV, turn it on, and just have it work.

And, I just wanted to add, some of those games never made it to the US. Most foremost that stick out on the list are Mother (Earthbound) for the NES and the 64-DD games. I'm hoping that at least Mother will be available, as it's totally an awesome game (if a bit weirder than its SNES sequel). It was translated and never released, so I wouldn't doubt it, personally. But the N64-DD games I'm not getting my hopes up for.

*Edit*
I'm also interested now that I'm noticing the light-gun compatible games (Duck Hunt and Yoshi's Safari for example). This would be an awesome list, were it true. But I'm not holding my breath.

No SNES or NES Ultimas, no Ninja Gaidens, no contra/life force/gradius, no Ninja Turtles, no SNES Final Fantasys, chrono trigger or anything, no Castlevanias, no Shadowgate, and most importantly my favorite NES game ever:

No Bionic Commando!

.... Of course some of the games I just listed I already own via NES/SNES cart... Aaaaaand the list isn't official... And there are still plenty of games on there worth downloading...

Famitsu reported that there will be all 221 Nintendo-published titles at launch. This guy just found out the 221 titles they published. That's all.

Will it be the same in the US? Hopefully. But I can't see Nintendo releasing Japanese games to the general consumer. But no big deal, I have every intention of importing.

indeed it is. thats why i turn on my dreamcast and have em all playing on there with no mods needed.

(obviously not all the snes and none of the n64 on the dreamcast tho)

But what im saying is not that you can already get them on the computer, What im saying is, emulation is not going to pull me into buying a new console. (it may have pulled me into buying a new handheld for emulators, but thats slightly different) its totally a nice feature to have if you already want the console, but i think they need to show things that will pull people into wanting the console instead of just little added bonuses for buying it.

That's all it's meant to be, everyone is just looking at it like you're buying an emulation machine (which I do recommend doing with an old PC though, and an arcade cabinet).

I hate to bring it up, but it goes right back to the world being against Nintendo. Every thread about Revolution turns into people arguing over whether or not emulation will sell consoles. No one talks about Xbox Live Arcade selling consoles, or PS3 backwards compatibility selling consoles. But if it's Revolution...

Perhaps it has something to do with xbox live arcade is just ONE of the many many features and things they revealed about the console, and pretty much the only thing we know about evolution is.... emulators.

hard to argue on different issues when they only give you 1 to argue on. Which is exactly what i was saying, instead of nintendo focusing on all this. they SHOULD be telling us all about the other things the console can do.

The list is probably bogus, but still... this thing is a great bonus for Revolution, though not a reason to buy in itself due to emulation (although I can't stand playing Super Mario Bros 3 with a keyboard or crappy PC gamepad).

I don't see Null's point being logical... just because it's one of the only confirmed things we know doesn't make it any different than what we know for XBox 360 and PS3. We know their specs, and a few games they will have. With Revolution, we can guess the specs, and pretty much assume the games it will have. The only thing we DON'T know about Revolution is the controller... we know pretty much everything else, even if we haven't seen it.

actually on PC you can just use any controller you want, wanna play NES games, use the original NES gamepad, or SNES, etc. so not seeing your point there really. (and they look 10 times better on PC then the original or any emulator on a console, that is one of the reasons i like it, i can smooth everything out, make things sharper, clearer, etc.) But all that is beside the point, emulators are fun, its not a matter of what the're played on.

My point is very simple. this is the time when nintendo needs to really push what it will have and what it can do and new features, BEFORE people buy a 360, BEFORE people reserve a PS3, they need to give people a reason to wait. they need to create hype. and they dont, they leave you in the dark on pretty much everything. and tell you about little things, sure the emulation is neat, but i want to hear about the big things.

we dont know thier specs, Nintendo said about 3 times more powerful then GC, that means nothing, we dont know much about thier games. Im sorry, emulators arent the only thing we know, we know how it'll look. im talkin, official info, not speculated info. This is not putting down nintendo at all, im interested, thats why i want to hear about this stuff and not just thier emulators. i can play the emulators now if thats what im waiting for.

I have a ton of NES/SNES/N64 ROMS on my computer but being able to play it without worrying about graphic glitches, crashses, etc...is enough to excite me. Hell, if I can play Goldeneye/Perfect Dark at at least higher framerates, I would just cream all over.
