Interesting, rumor/info Microsoft blames MTV ?

guess this is a rumor but still interesting if its true. Microsoft is blaming MTV for the leaked pictures of xb360.
And even more interesting, Microsoft was NOT planning on showing the actual console on the MTV program.

Following on from the news last night that Microsoft was ringing round their European Xbox subsidiaries in an attempt to locate the source of the leak, it appears focus has shifted away from it having come from within Microsoft.

The same source that informed us of the frantic activity at the Redmond campus last night, has now informed us that MTV, under pressure from Microsoft, are investigating a possible leak from within itself.

The leak, now believed to originate from within the team that is handling the production of the program, has been especially damaging as Microsoft has continued to be unavailable for comment.

The source commented no-one involved in the production of the program is exempt from investigation hinting that even the likes of Elijah Wood is not above suspicion, although the source stated it was highly unlikely to have come from outside of the production crew.

The plot is made even thicker by the revelation that Microsoft was not planning on revealing anything but the design, name and some of the launch titles.

This was compounded further, with our source saying that the "actual physical console" was not to be shown in the program. What was to be shown was a render; the render that has appeared on Internet and can be seen above.

Once again, owing to the weekend, no one at Microsoft or MTV was available for comment.

of course you never know if any of this is actually true or not. but i believe thoes pics are the real thing so i think its safe to assume MS is rather pissed off.

Think this would be the first and last time a company tries to reveal thier console before E3 on a TV station?

See.... if you trust it with people in Microsoft, they are under a Disclosure contract, and SOME have loyalty to microsoft.

But if you entrust something like this to MTV, you've got people on the inside that want to get this out to the masses.. . bad idea from Microsoft in the first place to go to MTV...

cuz now the Xbox has been unveiled... design wise, before ANYTHING authorized airs.

The picture we've seen is only a render. The actual design has not appeared and is not possessed by MTV either. This is just a publicity stunt to arouse hype and excitement. Insiders are saying the actual Xbox 360 looks nothing like the render that IGN is spreading around.

Thats exactly what its saying tho, Microsoft was just planning on showing that render, which is why mtv has it. and which is what was leaked from mtv. they said right there in bold, what they planned on showing was the render that is spreading around the internet.

and i bet the real thing looks REALLY close to that. it wont look exact i dont think, but its going to look very very close. only minor changes.

Yeah, insiders seem to think it'll be similar also. The only major change is that the system will only be black.
