A plague

Yes.

A Plague.

Lately, over the past few (like...8 years) the Lower Mainland, especially Port Coquitlam, have come down with a deadly disease.

Town Houses.

We are infested with them. Like Locusts. They are planning to chop off half the trees on the Mountain that I can see from my backyard, and they are planning on sticking Townhouses all the way on it. Now....for the 4 of you that know the Mountain, that can fit an assload of houses.

Down by the New Fox (The Newer Terry Fox Highschool in my area), they have pantloads of Townhouses....We are infested with No-yard-Cramped house syndrome.

And ultimately, the Population will grow, more than it has....I dont know how many people we used to have...but now we have close to, if not upwards of 70,000 people.

Bottom Line, I dont like Townhouses. Mainly, because I plan on living in my house for the rest of my life. I honestly do. And I know if Townhouses keep constantly being built, raising the population, Taxes will go up...and the taxes on a $300,000-ish (im so not giving the real price of my house) house will go way up.

Thats my rant for a while.

Are there environmental groups lobbying against it? It'd be a shame to lose all that natural beauty just so that unwanted people can move into your country.

Here in California, we stop evil developers by chaining ourselves to the trees in a non-violent protest.

Its not like we have a shortage of Trees.

Its just I mainly dont want Houses on THAT specific Mountain.

Not to mention I dont want taxes to go up.

We're going through some similar things where I live in Pennsylvania, except in outr case it's a rash of developments and shopping centers. The first shopping center was alright because it was the first time we had a grocery store within 20 miles of the house, but the developments are annoying. While our house is worth more now, it doesn't seem worth it when you look into the once empty fields and now see 25 identical houses. So it goes.
