Sega Making F-zero Games!!!!
Yep, heres the link.
All i can say, IS THAT IT BETTER BE GOOD. I'm going to have to get super monkey ball, seeing as Amusment Vision is behind the development. And Nintendo had better keep a close eye on them to make sure that they get it right. F-Zero remains my favorite Racing francise. And F-Zero X is my favorite racing game by far, i've completed it on absolutely ever setting and every cup. And even today i still play it, i'm the master at the game. They had better not bring weapons into it, it'll ruin it. It should remain core racing and bashing. Cause i just love sending people flying of the edge, or getting them to explode. It's good that it'll make it out by the end of the year (probably not in europe though, but still sooner then i thought), and i can't wait to see it and E3. But Nintendo better make sure they don't screw it up, so they just better keep a close eye on the development of the two games (The arcade and GC game).
Oh and one thing i forget to mention, lets hope they have the options they had in the 64DD version (which never saw the light of day outside japan). Where you can build your own tracks and cars. Oh just the thought of that is making me drowl .
I think this might sound a little wrong, so i'm editing my post for the second time. Since i can't read japanese (cause this was announced on the nintendo japan site), i might have been to hasty in posting this. It seems that from reading what many other sites reports on this. That Nintendo will be working with Amusment vision on the games. I'm a little confused on how the development will work excatly, so i'm just going to have to wait till E3 to here exactly what they say. And to hopefully see screen shots and movies of the game.

I have mixed feelings about this, I love the fact that Nintendo has announced the game, but I dread the fact that Sega will be making it...
I just don't like Daytona, and why fix it if it ain't broken? Nintendo should be making it themselves...

Don't worry psycho, N-sider got the full details of development here:

Sega and Nintendo working on F-Zero. Sounds good to me! Amusement vision is kinda good at arcade games like these.
Nintendo won't let them ruin it.

Well now that Nintendo and Sega are working on something together. (Especially one of Nintendo's franchises.. ok ok I know there are a bunch of them) Maybe there is a chance of Sonic being in Mario Kart or future Nintendo titles.

On second thoughts, it would actually be a brilliant, taking into account that amusement vision know what they are doing when it comes to multiplayer (super monkey ball), and I absolutely loved space harrier!

Okay, heres the offical press release ( planetgamecube)
SEGA AND NINTENDO TEAM UP TO DEVELOP F-ZERO GAMES FOR THE ARCADE AND NINTENDO GAMECUBE
New Game System to Integrate F-ZERO Arcade and Console Entertainment March 28, 2002 - Tokyo, Japan – SEGA® Corporation and Nintendo Co., Ltd. today announced that the two companies have teamed up to develop “F-Zero (working title)” video game titles for the next-generation 3D-CG Triforce arcade board and the Nintendo GameCube™. As part of the agreement, SEGA and Nintendo will collaborate on the projects using a new game system that will enable the arcade and console games to interact via “Memory Card 59.” The announcement builds off the previously announced alliance between SEGA and Nintendo on February 18, 2002 to develop the Triforce arcade board and reinforces the companies’ strategies to integrate arcade and home console entertainment. Under the agreement, SEGA and Nintendo will co-develop two new video game titles - “F-ZERO AC (working title)” for the arcade and “F-ZERO GC (working title)” for Nintendo GameCube. AMUSEMENT VISION, LTD, a SEGA Studio, will develop the “F-ZERO” games under the supervision of Nintendo. “F-ZERO AC (working title)” will be published by SEGA and “F-ZERO GC (working title)” will be published by Nintendo. “F-ZERO” titles will be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and released in late 2002. The Triforce board and Nintendo GameCube are based on the same architecture, and they will be interfaced through the special peripheral, “Memory Card 59.” This joint project originated from AMUSEMENT VISION, which had a vision to create an arcade game that could interact with the Nintendo GameCube. SEGA and Nintendo have now come together to make this joint project a reality.
And heres an advertisment (also found at planetgamecube)

I think sega can do a good job on F Zero. I like the idea. It's good to know that this time they'll be able to put some textures on the cars and stuff. Instead avoiding the use of hi resolution textures to keep the framerate and speed.
