I'm trying to increase my sister's computer resolution, but i can't change the screen area from "large" to small. the slider doesn't move over.

Are all the video drivers installed?

I right-click on the desktop and go to properties. Then I click the settings tab and move the screen resolution slider from less to more. Then I apply and click ok.

its possible that monitor might not be able to go higher if its old. But more likely i would redownload the newest vid drivers and install them.

that or you might have a video card where "multiple monitors" is selected on the same screen. if you have that selected, it wont move... change it to vga or single monitor.

That's the problem. It doesn't slide.
