Buy Nothing Day
www.adbusters.org
discuss!
Do you agree with the anti corporation movement? Explain.
What are your thoughts on Buy Nothing Day?
What are your thoughts on adbusters?
And, before people start thrashing on this one, I'd appreciate a bit of research into the 'movement'. Go to your local library and browse an issue. THere's a lot in the adbusters magazines that I disagree with but it has some serious **** to say as well. This is political, but it's not the same old, left vs right. Nice spin on things for a discussion imo. I'll try to get back to this thread often but I'm pretty bogged down for the upcoming week.

Re: Buy Nothing Day
My opinion may not apply because I have not read the link (too much homework)
However,
I will most definately be shopping on November 26th. Its a tradition that I have long shared with my mother and I don't want to miss out on it. Gotta work off those Thanksgiving day pounds by walking around for hours on end.

Re: Buy Nothing Day
I won't be buying anything then. I won't be buying much before then either.
Why don't we really stick it to corporations and never buy things ever again. We could have free trade amongst the people!
We'll give capitalism a good kick in the jewels.

Re: Buy Nothing Day
I see naive people. Sometimes they scare me...they want me to do things for them. They're walking around. Like regular people. Some of them don't even know they're naive...
