Re: Red Dead Redemption
I just beat the game today.
Some things about various parts of the game:
When you beat Dutch and are going back to your wife, and the song "Compass" slowly starts playing as you're riding your horse, I got chills. It was really powerful.
The very end when he gets shot a million times I was shocked. I didn't expect that to happen, and that also hit me hard. I've never been so attached to a video game or a video game character, and when that happened I felt so upset over it. Thinking about how he's used the entire game to kill these outlaws, and only is doing it so he can have a normal life for his family - and then he ends up getting killed and is entirely expendable, and his last X-amount of days [the entire game] is basically pointless aside from the fact he's trying to be with his son.
Listening to the song "Bury me on the lone prarie" (the one that plays when John dies) I get so sad. Such a powerful song.
I also enjoyed the "Strange Man" quests, because he was essentially the devil.
I just wish I could still play as John, because he's by far one of the best characters ever created.
Powerful ending.
Powerful game.
