It wouldn't take several millenia for two objects to pull to one another.

Only inertia, gravity, and physical forces control movement. The gravity on Earth is massive, because Earth is massive. the gravity on a rubber band is tiny, because a rubber band is tiny. Even the moon's gravity is "large".

How do materials form in the first place? Atoms come together due to either magnetic fields or a gravity equivelant, forming molecules. The compounds/molecules will eventually grow until gravitational pulls are formed.


I'm not saying that if you take two rocks in space and smack them together that they'll stick together. Their transfer and conservation of energy from the collision, combined with the laws of inertia, would send the two rocks off in certain directions at certain velocities determined by the speed in which they collided.
