If you got a 100 out of a 100 on an English college entrance exam, you should have no trouble correctly placing periods, commas, and other such punctuation marks in the right places in your sentences.
Grammar is partially puncuation by the way. Even if it wasn't, correct grammar greatly increases the reader's ability to have a clue what you're talking about.
When you're on a message board, if the other members have to read and re-read your poor sentences to understand what you're trying to get across, then you will be disrespected and most likely insulted in several places.
