Sorry to say, but only young teens at a Gaming forum would think as such. Free magazines are a sign of trouble. By signing up for free magazines, you'll - more likely than not - get pulled into a subscription. And, if you stop the subscription when they start charging you, you'll probably get loads of junk mail (hotmail style, but through the slug mail).
Free stuff is just a way to suck people in.
EDIT: OK, I went to the site to "investigate".

We like you. We really, really like you. That's why we've teamed up with our pals at GamePro Magazine to offer you a special gift: a complimentary 1-year subscription* to one of the most read video game magazines in America.
That's right -- NO COST. No hidden offers. No extra charges. No crazy direct e-mail sign ups. Just fill out the form below and we'll fill up your mailbox with GamePro**. There's only one catch -- the offer won't last forever. You've got to act now if you want to cash in.

*As I thought, it's a subscription. After the year, they're going to start trying to charge you. The only good thing is that you didn't have to give a credit card number just to sign up. But... I'm sure they'll find a way to corner you into paying for at least
one month after that year. And from there, they can charge you without you asking for the magazine.
**Heheh, that's not all they're going to fill your mailbox with come the 1-month mark, methinks. Though, they may wait out the whole year.
People who sign up, lemme know what happens.
