No, many people do agree with you. You're not alone on this... Probably the only reason I liked FFX was because I really, really enjoy playing RPG's. I enjoy playing almost every RPG out there...
But I did like FFX, in fact, I loved it. But many people I know said it was the worst FF game they have played but overall, it was an "ok" game. My favorite RPG ever created is Final Fantasy 7 along with Chrono Trigger... Just letting you know. And welcome to the boards.
PS: Have you played Kingdom Hearts?
