Because it is a fact. Take someone like stonecutter for example, if someone says Microsoft is in 2nd, he'll believe it hands down. If they say Microsoft is in 3rd, he'll argue that it's wrong. Hell, even when you get a very credible source like Microsoft themselves showing Xbox in 3rd, he'll try to make the case that it's impossible to tell, or we should just wait until the end and then we'll know. He is biased. Throw numbers in his face and he'll say they're not accurate. Of course, he has nothing to base it on.
I don't care who wins this generation, or the next. But it's clear to anyone who actually looks at the facts, the numbers that each company has put out, that Microsoft in in 3rd. If you took the time to research the numbers when EGM came up, it was clear that they didn't make sense. In January, Microsoft was predicting 9 million sales worldwide by the end of June. Now you're telling me that Xbox sold 13 million by the end of March? It's possible, but it doesn't add up. Now Microsoft comes out with actual numbers which do make sense, and it shows Microsoft in 3rd. Microsoft predicted 9 million by the end of June, got 9.4 million. See? Makes sense, it's believable.
Now unless you're someone who will refuse to believe anything that says Xbox is in 3rd, it's quite obvious that Microsoft is in 3rd. Deal with it. I don't know how I can say this nicely, but if you have personal feelings for the success of an inanimate object, something is wrong with you. Seek help.
