Default Sony's in first? Who's in Second?

As if the question doesn't get any more confusing with each passing day, first it's Nintendo, then it's MicroSoft, then it's Nintendo and last I checked it was MicroSoft.

Anyhow, if the horse's mouth is to be believed as of today, Nintendo has claimed the second spot in the console war.

Microsfot has released it's financial statement for the fiscal year ending June 30th, and here is what it says about the big black and green machine.

Quote:
Home and Entertainment posted stronger than expected results in the fourth quarter, with 8% revenue growth over the prior year on higher than forecasted Xbox(R) console sales. Since the launch of Xbox in 2001, Microsoft has sold over 9.4 million Xbox consoles worldwide, and by the end of the next fiscal year, Microsoft expects to have sold 14.5 to 16.0 million consoles. In addition, Xbox Live(TM) continued to gain momentum with over 500,000 subscribers worldwide participating in more than 1 million game sessions every week. There will be over 400 Xbox titles available for the 2003 holiday season, and there are several highly anticipated games coming out this fiscal year, including Halo(R) 2.

Now Nintendo has said it sold around 9.4 million console at the end of March 2003, assuming Nintendo hasn't sold a damn console since that period, they would be tied, but seeing as how there are Japanese and Us charts shown quite frequent, that ain't the truth. Now I'm trying to find a link that confirms this number. All I get is Nintendo sold 5.6 million in fiscal period ending March 2003, and 4 million ending fiscal period March 2002.
