Default Baseball fans give me your opinion: Attributable Run Average

Let me know what you think of this.

I assume you are all familear with the baseball stat of earned runs and ERA. If not, pick an new thread.

For those who do know about the earned run I've always thought it was kind of stupid that a pitcher could commit an error and not have that runner count against his ERA if he were to score. I understand that the ERA is ment to be a measure of pitching ability but all stats are ment to measure the effectiveness of a player. Since there's no way that the ERA is going to change, I've come up with a new stat.

Tell me if you think these are useful.

Attributable Run (AR) An attributable run is:

An earned run.

A runner that scores after having reached base on a pitcher's error with less than two outs.

A runner that scores after having reached base on or after a pitcher's error with two outs.

Attributable Run Average (ARA)

Attributable Runs x9/Innings pitched

So basicly, it's earned runs, but it counts pitcher errors.
