I was ridiculously ill-prepared (just like in any other RPG). But... I managed. HOW, you ask? Well, I "accidently" had the Medicine rune attached to Geddoe... which I never found to be useful until the final battle. So, upon the battle, I was being pummelled quite a bit, being that my fire runes were trashing my party. Geddoe, being the sole survivor, had to do his hardest attacks against the avian until I ran out of items to heal with. By that time, I just about gave up ... until, of course, he decided to heal himself! So, for about 15 rounds, I lived off of the Medicine Rune followed by a few misses made by the Avian (they were repelled by an item he was wearing, or the avian did the "change color" move). It was a sad victory...
