I don't see Sony actually doing that simply because they lead everybody by such leaps and bounds. There really wouldn't be a point to simply because they're beating the **** out of everyone already at a similar price point with NOTHING included...
You sure that's not based on money earned, rather than sales for that month BreakABone? Its completely feasible DOAXVB outsold Mario Party 4 or Metroid Prime in Feburary. I would think the free copies of MP with hardware sales wouldn't count as indivdual game sales. All the Xboxes that sold with Sega GT and Jet Set Radio Future would mean that both those games, either individually as a two pack, would be constantly showing up on monthly sales lists.
And don't just think that a console that's $50 less and includes a game would outsell the established player and the player with the deepest pockets. Hello Dreamcast? Even when Sega was selling DCs for $99 and included two stellar, big time selling sports games no one was biting. What's so different from Nintendo doing the same thing with an apparently stellar, apparently stellar selling game? Maybe the sales are a good indication that potential console owners actually DO care about strong third party support and market presence and not lower prices and a small smattering of first party titles.
