Hell no; I meant for nostalgic purposes, since almost all Zelda games were carts, and were gold for the most part.
But for the sake of arguement, a console consisting of cartridge slots would have a much better seek time, and if compressed, 90 hours worth of FMV could be stored instantaneously to a harddrive for playback in-game.
In other words, the ultimate console would've been an N64 with an HD, or an Xbox with a cart slot realistically, though prices would've been sky-high again ($70 for games and such). But you'd get what you pay for (NO LOADTIMES, in-game saves, no memory cards, no noise of the console "spinning up", etc).
It's all relative technical thinking, really...
