The new GB will be co released with nintendo's next console. Probably around the same month. the 3 years or so fits in with my theory. Also, the gba will be slightly superior to the N64. That way porting games will be an option just like the current GBA. I personally think Nintendo is going to keep the new GB closer to gaming. Expanding to a phone doesn't seem like Nintendo's style.
