The website that reported those numbers clearly made up the story to generate hits to their site for ad revenue. They quote 'Weekly Famitsu' as the source for their numbers when the Famitsu numbers had the GCN at ~8200 and the Xbox at ~5200. They then used figures from a different source (Dengeki), which had the Xbox at the ~8700 figure and the GCN somewhere near 10,000) and put them together. Really just pathetic to be honest -- they also made up a random number on the Pokémon RuSa weekly sales, claiming they'd fallen to 33k per
week when they were still going strong at ~60k.
