Look at the date of the article you posted confirming that Rareware had been sold to Microsoft. September 11th. Where are you getting the idea that he turned around and posted 100% confirmation the next day?
But just to humor you, I think he probably does write some responses on the same day that they are posted. There have been several instances (Squaresoft games coming to GameCube pops into mind) when a news item was posted on IGN and then the mailbag that very day had questions and answers on that very article. He certainly couldn't have done those the day before.
