Isn't Project Devil exactly what they called Devil May Cry 2 before they announced it was Devil May Cry 2?

On PS2 I mean... cuz I remember in PSM it was like "CAPCOM ANNOUNCES PROJECT DEVIL!" and I was like "Gee could that be a sequel to DMC?" and sure enough it was...

at least I think that's how it went...
