Well Gekko...
Beware of "ALIENWARE"! If you thinmk the mother ****ers at best buy suck Shi+ you need to get a load of this:
I got my PC back from Alienware after a nice "Disaster" that I'm sure you remember. First the ****ing @$$holes broke the damn yellow door off of the PC in shipping because some yahoo in florida dosen't know what a ****ing piece of damn scotch tape is! No biggie right, I'l just get a new door shiiped to me, right? Wrong! After I talk to Customer Abuse--I mean service they want me to pack the motehr-***ing PC up and send it back,AGAIN!!! I was two-seconds from sending it back when my father grabs the phone and yells at the poor b@st@rd on the other end "How loong is this kid gonna have to wait ofr his ***ing Computer?!?" The Tech who is now scared to death explains there "Policy" about PC-Doors and why I should have to spend $$$ to ship a 50lbs PC to florida for a 5 ounce door! My dad gets them to "Break-policy" on a one-time basis and send us the d@mn door. All's well int he land of AlienWarce PC's, right?
Wrong again! Not even a week after the "Repair" or Joking lack there of that "Alienware" made, they PC is fried again. I try the usual stuff but it won't even boot into Windoze safe mode, and my Recovery CD is Fsked up beyond belief. That's another "part" that they won't replace. I "try" to call Tech-Support, noticve I used the word "try". Every time I go to call them I get Disconnected halfway through the dialing process. Now I'm ****ing p*ssed! I call Customer Disatser, I mean serivce, service, and tell them I need to speak to a godd@amn Tech and can't call there Tech-Support Line because they keep disconnecting me! They quickly transfer me at which point I repeat the "Standard" repair procedures I've already tried, the Tech dosen't know his elbow from his @$$. Finally he tell's em to send it back to Florida again, this time I have no choice, I can't get into "Safe Mode" and the Recovery CD is defective, so I can't re-format, the BIOS changes they suggested were crap, and now my PC is back at the AW factory! I'm stuck on a lousy Gateway 2000 (yes it's that old that it has the old 2000 logo) with 300MHz worht of Winblows suckage, and restricted net-access because I'm using my Parent's PC.
The worst thing is that my Once-Great $3000.00 PC is now worth about as much as Enron stock!
Then two-days before the "disaster" I bought "Star Trek: Bridge Commander" with some amazing eye-candy. Now I'm playing it with specs that really are the
bare minimum and Low-res graphcis that make this ships look like they're built from wodden baby blocks!
Three things I've learned from this:
1. Make sure the ****ing Recovery CD works before you use your PC.
2. Never, ever buy another PC from Alienware or anyone else, build your own Computer.
3. Anything under "Warrenty" is automatically "programmed" to self-destruct the day the warrenty expires although this also backfires in most cases.
It's my personal belief that things under a warrenty are designed to break the day AFTER the warrenty expires.
