Well, any console could still technically win this console war, but if you are going my sales numbers Playstation 2 has most likely won this war. But if you're going by quality of games then that's another story, not a fair comparison yet though considering none of the console's life spans is over.

Microsoft dropped the price and took a beating. Nintendo wasn't affected much. But they dropped the price because it was still practical. PS2 can go down to $100, but Nintendo and Microsoft don't need to drop the price at all, and they likely won't.

Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are all being effected by the price cuts because each console manufactor is losing more money. Although Microsoft is losing the most I believe, but also game sales have gone up so it is sort of evening out.

There's still 4 years left to this generation. While most people agree PS2 is going downhill, most people also agree GC and Xbox keep getting better. Nintendo and Microsoft aren't stupid, they aren't going to sell for $100 this early on.

There's probably actually more like 3 years left in this generation, considering when Sony decides to launch the Playstation 2. But I also do think PS2 will continue to go down hill, it's hey day is over in my opinion.
