There's a big difference though. There are millions of different species of bugs, bacteria, and animals on our planet that we've all ready discovered. Your estimate is probably right, we must find at least 100 new organisms every year, but the main difference is that the ones that we find are usually small insects, or bacteria in tropical rainforests, and on a rare occasion an animal. In the Pokemon world however, there were only 150 species known to man, and within a year twice as many are discovered. We're not talking just bugs and bacteria, but animals the size of dogs. Also, these large Pokemon appear suddenly where humans exist, so it's not like they're in some area that's never been explored.
