I don't think that's too different from Live though, is it?
I'm pretty sure I can't play any of my XBL arcade games without first renewing my XBL membership (not like I can try anymore, or tried any time in the recent past). I remember running into that problem - it just wouldn't let me play some games I had paid for without re-buying XBL, granted that was
years ago.
It's just that everyone always renews XBL so nobody would ever really notice otherwise, if that
is the case and I'm just not remembering the problem incorrectly.
I don't have Plus now but for the time I had it - oh how wonderful it was. I've been thinking about getting it just because the perks are actually ridiculously good; with the plethora of old games you have access too - or seem to, or once did when I looked last.
And even if they rescind those free games once you stop paying for Plus, meh - they were free. That doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I figure my money is going towards server upkeep, online data storage, and server priority to those who don't pay. I wouldn't factor like my money is going towards me getting games, and rewarded with free server space and online storage.
