I'd say a lot of the lack of offensive pressure is definitely because of that. There was one specific moment where you could easily notice Daniel missing; when Henrik was skating back and forth behind the net 2 or 3 times. It was like he was just waiting for Daniel to get open. Even looking on the ice you could see the giant hole where Daniel would have been.
As for the defensive end; they're just eating a whole lotta poop. I don't know what's up with Edler, but he's making bad plays, and not hitting at all.
The one thing that frustrates me most about the Canucks right now is that they have the one play where the D skates it up, drops it back, and they pass it up to the opposite wing and then dump it in - or pass back across the blue line - but every team has gotten wise to it by now. It's a great play and it works - but not when it's all you do every time.
It's like they're playing the game from a playbook, and not thinking for themselves when they're out there. They're just going through the motions. Even if they could see the mistake coming, they'd make that shitty intercepted pass, or they'd dump it in when there was no pressure - because that's what the play called for. I say they need to scrap that, and play by creativity again. Play by the flow of the game, rather than the drills you run in practice.
