Re: Sports Fandom
Well, the canucks clinched the President's Trophy in the last game of the season. This culmination, full control to either win or lose it to the Rangers, was a nice moment in sports fandom for me.
It's important that the canucks shewed the league which team, is the team.
I also really really want to see Ovechkin roulette shoot the shit out of Boston first round. I don't want a rematch with a bunch of goons which only make the league look especially backwoods billy.
I'm a nucks fan because of 94 and what it was like to have friends and family display such emotion over such a contrived SCF. I'm all regional. To me, Toronto in baseball and basketball situates it as my home town in these venues. I don't watch any hockey besides nuck games because the rest doesn't matter. I've been stupidly invested in the team since 2000 and it's been a long road to multi-season cup contention. Even if it's the leafs, I'll 'support' any Canadian franchise going deep into the playoffs.
ahhhh the playoffs.
something about the jays and raptors acting as farm teams to the yankees and big money basket franchises respectively has made following the two teams a bit of a joke.
