Re: Top 5 Favorite Games of All-Time
Honestly it'd be so hard for to make a top 5 list. I'm gonna base it on hours cashed in the game and/or looking up unfo about the game though.. If I just did quality I'm not going to be able to do less than 10.
Anyway:
-Final Fantasy XI: Very hard MMORPG, but it's a real MMORPG.. the type where the society in the game has to accept you for you to get anywhere, and it takes teamwork to do everything including level. Plus it's the last Square FF game before they flipped their lid and got rid of the basic classes like white mage, black mage, monk, etc. Also has 90+% of the classic spells, and an amazing story line.
-World of Warcraft: This is another "MMORPG" but it's the polar opposite of FFXI. Absolutely no teamwork is needed to get to the highest level and near the highest gear. Reputation means nothing, none of the gear is special, the story line is shallow, and the music/environment is all dry. But can't deny that this game has it's charm. The only reson I still have a subcription is that I don't feel guilty or like I owe anyone anything when I dissapear from the game for weeks at a time. MMORPG concept, without the hard work or adiction factor. Worked well.
-Metal Gear Solid Series: Mainly referring to MGS2-4, and MGS portable ops. Amazing story telling value, and lots of philosophy. A story that was built for a video game. A book or a movie would have never done it justice. And even though the gameplay parts of it were limited, it was very polished.
-Pokemon Gold/Silver: Pokemon Blue was the first RPG I really got into. It snagged me in before the whole Playstation RPG hurricane hit. Gold/silver(/crystal) was the best the series had to offer, everything after was just going down hill. I got to the 200+ mark, but never did catch them all lol.
-NBA 2k series: I've cashed many MANY hours of my life into playing these games, and they only seem to get better and better each year. 2k11 crossed the line into being the greatest sports simulation game in history (Yeah I said it, name one better and I'll say why it isn't lol). I have a feeling things may go down hill from here due to lack of competition.
