The Gamecube will do well, and be profitable, but I never see it becoming #1. Nintendo seems to be trying to keep out of the whole console war thing all together, which in a way is a good thing.
Nintendo's problem right now is that I believe that Nintendo rushed the launch of he Gamecube to keep up with the XBox. There just aren't enough games for it and look at how much time has passed since its release. Thats just horrible preparation.
I don't think Nintendo's games were pushed back for testing or development problems, I think Nintendo just bold faced lied to their public so that they would buy a Gamecube at or near launch because they thought all the great games would be arriving shortly. Now it looks like it will be close to a year after launch when games like SMS, Starfox and others will be released.
If I were a Gamecube owner who bought the system before the price cut (in the US), I would be quite pissed right now because you paid $50 more than everyone else who bought the console afterwards and I had no games for it.

Oh please Ps2 had the same problem with it's games...it took a while for Ps2 to get AAA titles....and Nintendo fans were like of oh look Ps2 launch sucks and now everyone is like oh ps2 rocks ..look at the games etc etc.( and it's true)
Now GC launched Ps2 fans are like oh look at the GC no real games ( which is sorta true) hahahaha their launch sucks.
But it takes time to get the AAA games out.....and if you think nintendo lied about the games after launch...welll you might be right...I mean why would people buy a system right away if they think the games they want are a year away?? So yeah, it might be lieing but I think every company does it in a way.

I think
Oh yeah sorry about the double post ...but I'm not posy cramming so I don't think the mods will mind.
