I don't really mind them either, but I understand why people do.

It'd be one thing if they were homemade cultural instruments, but they're just kind of crappy over-sized plastic kazoos.

The main complaint I've heard is that the vuvuzelas drown out any other form of crowd noise. You miss the nation specific chants and songs, that kind of thing.

Again, it doesn't bother me a whole lot, that's what South Africans like to do, so let 'em do it, but it's a worthy debate.
