Hmm... when I got my Cube I played SSB Melee for about 2 hours... set it down... played an hour the next day, went and bought SA2 for Dremcast ($20), then stopped playing GCN for about a month.

Then I got Tony Hawk and NBA 2k2... then I played it almost every day
