(all that really doesnt weigh that much, aside from the brick hammer, which isnt that necessary)
And an SMG doesnt have that much stopping power, and where are you going to store all the clips!? Sure you can riddle them full of bullets, but that isnt going to put them down in one shot.
I agree with gathering supplies, but heading back for a cabin in the middle of the woods? You would be surrounded by forest, who knows where the zombies would come from. And also, 2-3years!? I would go back within the first few months while the supplies are still fresh. You would just need need to set up a good base of operations and good transportation to get back in the city, otherwise you are screwed.

Fine, I'm not trying to say I'm a master of headshots or anything? Even with a gun that isn't very accurate. Zombie heads will roll.
A cabin would be pretty ideal. More than likely zombies without some form of intelligence or travel aren't going to make it out to the woods where few people live. If I made it there I would only have to worry about the possibility of my parents and my aunt being zombies and that's just 3 zombies. And yes I would kill the shit out of my zombie family. Even if they weren't zombies... Maybe they still die? Who knows? Anyway... The only way I'm risking going back to zombie land is if I absolutely have to. Depends on the season. If I can plant a garden then I wouldn't need to get back to zombie land for a long time.
