He wanted to do what he wanted to do when he wanted to do it, regardless of the number of times we had to meet with him in attempts to correct his behavior. In the end the final straw was when we discovered that while he would behave a certain way around me and my Director, he would continue his unprofessional ways when not around us. I can't help someone who doesn;t want to be helped, or worse, thinks they're "getting one over on us". I don't even want to think about the number of hours I wasted in trying to mentor him when it became apparent he had no respect for me or the company. Its a shame because I have a great team of people who work together very well, and he just never bought in.
Not to go into detail, but there were also cultural and sexual sensitivity issues as well.
