The worst thing they could do is put celebrities in camera friendly areas. The McCain campaign will use it to their advantage.
The real potential for Obama in this campaign is to get away from the mysterious celebrity image he's had, and turn that into a strong statesman performance. I'm looking for him to speak plainly and directly, and most importantly, presidentially. I really don't think his sermon style speeches will fly well under such a bright spotlight with so many people watching.
If he turns statesman, he'll be hard to beat coming out of this convention.

Wow, its almost like they read my post and chose to do the exact opposite. McCain & Co. are going to have a field day with that spectacle, and the right wing bloggers and talk radio shows are going to love that he ended with a biblical reference that specifically refers to Jesus Christ, espcially since they arlready been painting Obama as a man with a messiah complex.
I mean, it was a good speech, but its the same speech he's been giving and that the opposition have been tearing apart. I could understand this tactic is Obama has been gaining in the polls, but he hasn't. He's been slipping.
That speech should have been a presidential speech based on specific policy, not a an inspirational speech that was once again heavy on the eloquence but light in the pants (I will admit to only hearing the second half, so if he concentrated on policy in the first half, I apologize).
Obama had the opportunity to put the nail in John McCain's coffin by bringing the issues tonight, and looking presidential. Instead, he look like someone running for Pastor in Chief, and if you haven't already converted there aren;t any more sermons that will convert you. All thats left is for people on the fence, waiting for Obama to be more specific, to get tired of waiting and decide to vote for McCain.
Once again, I missed thr first half, so if he gave an Al Gore 2000 style (A Gore took a HUGE lead out of the convention) then, I apologize. I'll try and catch the first half later.
Thoughts?
