Actually, it was only used in a couple scenes of the movie. They made a replica, but only the exterior was the same. The engine they are working on in the movie is not the engine in the car. The car also features screens in the dash, which I believe they left out. They also took out the seats because filming would be horrible with them.
Of course, the movie paid for that car really. Before that it was yellow, and didn't look nearly the same. Still a great car back then. Also, the car has never been raced, it's purely a show car, and you can tell. Here's a site on the car if you guys care so much:

And, my Jeep with the right upgrades is going to be more capable off road than the Hummer and come in at at least $70,000 cheaper.

Doubt that. Even with mods the Jeep will never match the hummer. Hell, even raising that car 8" is dangerous, it'll tip too easily. If you want to see the Hummer's real power, go to their website and they have videos of it. In one of them the car is tipped up in the air, with the back wheels all the way in the air, driving on only the front tires. It's sweet. the Hummer is made specifically for off-road, the Jeep is made for driving to Wal-Mart and back, it doesn't match the Hummer. I can go into more detail, but if you look at Hummer's capabilities it should be clear. And I'm hungry, and want food.
