Gotcha bullshit is what cost John Kerry the election pretty much (Swiftboat). Media and politicians will spin things so that idiots will remember something totally irrelevant, rather then the real things that matter.

Then the idiots remember that 'horrible bad thing' when they vote, rather then a candidates good ideologies on how to fix economy or healthcare, etc...It'll always be that way unfortunately, as long as idiots who don't look at the real issues at hand are allowed to vote.
